Look on the imprint page of most books and you’ll see a team of people credited. The roles of author, illustrator, photographer, editor, copyeditor, proofreader, book designer, typesetter and so on, are usually undertaken by different people, each with discrete skills. This means a manuscript may pass through numerous hands (which equates to substantial dollars) before it is published and becomes a book.
Owing to a broad skill set acquired through a long career in the creative industries; literary expertise honed while completing a master’s degree in writing; publishing knowledge learned through editing and/or designing around a hundred books, as well as being a published author and illustrator; and due to a natural aptitude for all things visual and literary, I am able to offer clients a comprehensive range of publishing services. Instead of having to rely on a procession of experts, I can manage a project from conception to completion and help clients bring their book ideas to life.
If you are interested in working with me, feel welcome to tell me about your project using the contact form. I am happy to work with value-aligned people where my skill set can be of service. Whether you have an idea for a publication, or you’d like me to speak at your event, or run a workshop on making books or creativity, I am happy to talk with you.
